Wellness Springs Yoga Center
Our goal is simple - to support you in reconnecting with yourself and with spirit so that you can lead a healthier, more peaceful life and then have a positive influence on the world.

What is Yoga?
In the last 5 years Yoga has become a household word. Yoga classes are offered in nearly every gym and there are a plethora of videos available. Two questions come to mind:

1. Could Yoga benefit You?
2. With classes so readily available, who choose to practice with us at Wellness Springs?

First, let's resolve some common confusions about Yoga. At its essence, Yoga is an approach to healthy living that focuses on harmonizing the body, mind and spirit. This is accomplished through learning to focus on the present with a series of exercises that link physical postures (asanas) with the breath. The result is a feeling of balanced energy, a calm heart, peaceful mind and a inner sense of well-being and joy. It really doesn't matter how flexible you are, it is not a competition about who can contort the most. There is no conflict with studying yoga and maintaining your personal religious practices- in fact, the two compliment each other.

Yoga teaches you how to be present with yourself and encourages you to honor yourself. With regular practice you will also enjoy the benefits of a relaxed, flexible, strong, and balanced body, mind and spirit. You will feel more fluid in your movement AND your thinking and you will age more gracefully.

Yoga at Wellness Springs
There are many styles of Yoga. Some studios are dedicated to a particular style and offer it exclusively. Our studio offers a variety of Yoga styles and an assortment of classes that will fit your needs and level of experience, from those just beginning Yoga to the very advanced student.

Loose comfortable clothing is advised. We have mats available, but encourage you to bring your own mat and water to refresh yourself during the class. We supply props if needed - bolsters, blocks, bands and blankets. Feel free to bring any special supplies of your own. You will be encouraged to develop a personal daily practice and to make yourself and your health a priority in your life.

Our instructors have a depth of experience that is extraordinary. Each one is committed to their own personal growth and emits an inner joy that is simply refreshing.

One of the core teachings in our classes is finding the balance between effort and surrender and then opening our hearts to grace. Our goal is to encourage that this learning transcends the classroom experience. The real practice of Yoga is "off the mat" when we face life's stresses with calmness, difficult people with compassion, and ourselves with gentleness and unconditional acceptance.

Our Classes:

Beginner Yoga
Perfect for the new student just beginning the study of yoga or for any student who would like to delve deeper into developing Inner-Awareness.

We have organized a program of study that will teach you all the basics of yoga and how to develop a personal yoga practice. Each class will concentrate on fundamental hatha yoga postures (asanas), breathing techniques, proper alignment, and appropriate modifications if needed.

All Levels Yoga
This class will guide ALL LEVELS of students (beginners and up) through a well-rounded practice including seated meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises), and a flowing asana practice exploring variations of Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutations), a wide range of standing and seated poses, and beginning arm balances and inversions.

Intermediate/Advanced Yoga
A fun and challenging flow class for INTERMEDIATE to ADVANCED level students working to deepen their practice. Seated meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises), as well as Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation) variations, challenging core strengthening, balance, inversions and a wide range of standing and seated postures will be included.

Previous yoga experience recommended.

Restorative Yoga
This ALL LEVELS restorative practice will include "active relaxation" - supporting the body with blankets, blocks, and other props to support postures which are held for several minutes. This will alternatively stimulate and relax the body allowing it to move towards balance.

This practice is very beneficial to health, can reduce the effects of stress-related disease, and will leave you nourished and well rested.

Gentle Yoga
This class is designed for Seniors or yoga students who have special challenges and needs such as chronic pain that have stopped them from taking even a beginner's yoga class.

Our focus is still on fundamental hatha yoga postures (asanas) but with special modifications. Variations may be done in a chair instead of seated on the floor. Emphasis on breathing techniques (pranayama), balance and core strength will help you feel younger and more vital.

Kids Yoga
Fun yoga postures blended with kid friendly philosophy. We will engage in creative games which are designed to bring your child increased awareness. There will be exploration of storytelling and discussions. Each class will also offer a calming breath technique to help guide any child to a place of quiet and centering.

Ages 4-12. A fun way to lean focus and coordination through easy animal postures. Kids learn discipline, enhance balance and stability in growing bodies and minds. Pre-registration is required.
