Chiropractor & Director of Wellness Springs

Dr. Maria Perri, Chiropracter & Director Dr. Maria Perri, a chiropractor since 1984, believes that a whole person approach that addresses the mind/body connection, healthy lifestyle and active participation of patients in their healing process is essential in quality health care. Her unique treatment approach is gentle and specific and emphasizes posture, release of muscle tension and therapeutic exercise. She blends a relaxed, caring healing environment with a deep commitment to clinical excellence.

Throughout her career she has been actively involved in fitness and has been the staff chiropractor teaching Back in Motion programs in four fitness centers. In 1989 she was a founding board member of New Approaches to Wellness, an inter-disciplinary holistic health association in NJ, and host of a weekly talk radio show "Healthline" from 1995-98. After a 3 year course in advanced study, Dr. Perri received a Diplomate in Rehabilitation in 2002.

Having the unique opportunity of training personally with renowned neurologists Drs. Janda & Lewit in Prague, Dr. Perri has lectured extensively since 1995, teaching active care techniques to chiropractors throughout the US, Canada and Europe. She has held a position as post-graduated faculty for Los Angeles Chiropractic College since 1995, National Chiropractic College since 2006 and has been a Board Member of the American Chiropractic Board of Rehabilitation since 2003.

In addition, she lectures in the community and in industry regarding health and injury prevention. She authored a chapter in the textbook Rehabilitation of the Spine (2nd edition) and has published a scientific study on the relationship between breathing patterns, stress and chronic pain. She is passionate about teaching Mindfulness based skills to her patients and community. Recently Dr. Perri began a Youth Athlete Wellness Program at Wellness Springs.

She is happily married to a fellow P90 X enthusiast with two wonderful children, and a small herd of horses, cats and wild turkeys.

:: Patrick Dillon :: Hypnotherapist
Patrick Dillon, HypnotherapistPatrick Dillon is a certified hypnotist with a private practice, specializing in weight reduction, smoking cessation, stress reduction and self-hypnotism. After practicing Siddha Yoga Meditation for twenty-two years and martial arts for twenty-four years, Pat became convinced of the benefits of a disciplined body and mind. The techniques involved in hypnosis bridge these two disciplines. He received his certification from the National Guild of Hypnotists in 2001. The Guild has rigorous standards for certification and continuing education for its members.

Pat is pleased to offer private and group sessions of hypnosis for smoking cessation, weight control, stress reduction and self hypnotism. He feels it is a great honor to be able to help you make positive, meaningful changes in your lives and invites you to attend these sessions and take advantage of the extraordinary benefits of this life improving methodology.

:: Dr. Jodi Bolsenbroek, Chiropractor
Dr. Jodi Bolsenbroek, Chiropractor Dr. Jodi Bolsenbroek is a 2006 New York Chiropractic College graduate. After practicing in New Jersey and working with chiropractors in Orange County, Dr. Jodi has joined our team. Her patient centered philosophy makes her a perfect fit at Wellness Springs.

To facilitate healing in the body, Dr. Jodi focuses on a mind/body connection, release of muscle tension, nutrition, and patient education. She is a health coach for the wellness program Take Shape for Life. Being exposed to chiropractic since the age of 5 years, Dr. Jodi credits her support and encouragement to her family.

Dr. Jodi is currently attending Long Island University, seeking a Masters of Science in Adolescent Education. An Orange County resident all her life, Dr. Jodi's ultimate goal is to teach adolescent science while healing and educating chiropractic patients.

:: Nutritionist::

::Tom Petrie, Nutritionist Tom Petrie, Nutritionist
Thomas C. Petrie is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelors degree in Nutrition. He was Nutritionist with the Pritikin Longevity Center in Garden Grove, CA and Nutritionist for the Total Health Foundation in Albany, NY. He has been a guest on WABC radio and local TV.

He is a Certified Dietitian-Nutritionist (CDN), with the New York State Department of Education since 1996. He recently completed his first book on the subject of preventing and reversing heart disease (awaiting publication). This book is co-authored by Michael B. Schachter, M.D., Medical Director of the Schachter Center for Complementary Medicine. He lectures frequently in the New York metropolitan area.

Kate Michalak, L.Ac., PA-C
Kate Michalak, Acupuncturist Kate is licensed to practice acupuncture in New York State. She graduated Mercy College with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine in 2001, and maintained a thriving private practice in Newburgh NY. During this time, Kate worked with agencies such as Orange County Department of Health and St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital and helped to educate individuals and incorporate acupuncture into mainstream medicine. In an effort to gain more medical knowledge to be able to further integrate eastern and western philosophies, Kate returned to Mercy College and graduated in 2009 with a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. She also has a Diplomate of Chinese Herbology.

Kate's philosophy is that in life and in medicine there must always be a balance. Acupuncture is an ancient medicine that uses tiny needles to balance "QI", which is defined as energy. As an Acupuncurist, Kate works with her patients to guide them in achieving a balance.

Samantha Crosby, Licensed Aesthetician Samantha Crosby is a licensed aesthetician and graduated from the Hudson Valley School of Advanced Esthetic Skin Care in 2005. Samantha brings her extensive knowledge and training in both natural and medical esthetics to her clients and offers individual and personal consultations. Specialty training by the Jurlique Natural Skin Care company allows her to offer facial or body treatments tailored to the individual needs of her clients. Samantha's goal is to bring to her clients a spa experience that leaves them feeling relaxed, refreshed and beautiful.

::Jan Sheib
Jan Sheib, Licensed Aesthetician After 15 years in Public Relations, Jan desired to make a change to a less stressful and more balanced career. In 2006, she went back to school and graduated from the Middletown School of Beauty as a licensed Aesthetician. Jan then continued advanced skin care studies at the International Dermal Institute in Manhattan.

Jan brings to her clients a service methodology dedicated to natural health. She is committed to employing a holistic approach that can bring out the glow and radiance of healthy skin while delivering the highest degree of anti-ageing skin rejuvenation treatment. Jan strives to give all of her clients a relaxing and healing treatment session that will leave your skin refreshed and rejuvenated and your body with an overall sense of well-being and peace.

Valerie Legeay, Licensed Aesthetician Valerie Legeay was born in Paris, France. She attended the Silvya Terrade International School of Aesthetics in Lyon and graduated from the International Federation of Aesthetics. She was trained by Alain Moize to the fine art of make up and eye brow sculpting (her specialty). Valerie Legeay was born in Paris, France.

She also studied facial Shiatsu in Marseille with Philippe Kusnick, reflexology and an in-depth study of aromatherapy with Helene Mitanchez in Grace (France). Valerie is utterly fascinated by all forms of Healing Arts. She is also a graduate of the Middletown Beauty School in Middletown, NY and is NY State Licensed in Aesthetics.

Her commitment at Wellness Springs Spa is to provide a unique experience of well being to each client as well as a natural approach to aesthetic counseling.

Valerie is an accomplished opera singer and performer. She has been known to hike a few thousand miles throughout France and Spain, dabble in martial arts, theater and of course singing! Presently, she lives in Cornwall, NY.

Anthony Figueroa, Fitness Coach Anthony is devoted to creating an environment for fitness success. Through his 10 years as a personal trainer, he feels fortunate to have been a part of positively influencing other people's progress toward fitness and now he wants to be able to do the same for others at Wellness Springs.

:: Marisol Kamkoff
Marisol Kamkoff, Zumba Instructor Marisol has been instructing Zumba and fitness classes since 1998. Originally from Venezuela, Marisol has a high energy approach to Zumba that sets high standards for herself and her students.

Zumba is a fitness program that uses a fusion of Latin and International music that can help you burn up to 1,000 calories in 1 hour class and also tone and sculpt your muscles. Marisol's classes are fun, energetic and will leave you feeling great from an exciting workout!




A Course in Miracles with Rachel Lopez Connelly

Join us in our exploration of the book A Course in Miracles. A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is a self-study thought system, which helps to gently re-train the mind. This course brings new meaning to the term, spiritual psychology. ACIM teaches forgiveness as the road to inner peace and the remembrance of the love of God. This group will discuss all aspects of the book with a particular focus on the practical application of these principles in our daily lives. No prior knowledge of this work is required. Participants should have their own copy of the book. All are welcome.

Rachel Lopez Connelly & Stoney Besides spending time with her family, Rachel has three driving passions in her life; horses, healing and the study of A Course in Miracles.

As a certified Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor, she works with adults and children with disabilities to help them experience the healing power of horses. Rachel is a level III certified practitioner of Reconnective Healing and The Reconnection for the past several years. She studied and received her training in New York City, NY and Los Angeles, California. She was personally trained by Dr. Eric Pearl, founder and author of The Reconnection, Heal Others, Heal Yourself.

:: Karen Giacco
Karen Giacco, Massage TherapistA 1999 graduate of the Healing Hands Institute for Massage Therapy in Westwood, New Jersey, Karen received training in Swedish Massage, Pre- and Post-Natal Massage, Shiatsu and Sports Massage. She is licensed in the state of New York and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

After spending 20 years in the corporate arena as a Sports Marketing and Event Planning Coordinator, Karen decided on a career in Massage Therapy after experiencing the benefits of therapeutic massage as a stress relief tool in her very hectic life. Karen feels that "Knowing I can help ease a client's pain, soothe the discomforts of pregnancy, or assist an athlete to function to their optimal ability is professionally as well as personally satisfying to me."

Karen has been an Orange County resident since 1970 and resides with her husband and son in New Windsor.

Peggy Dellabough, Massage TherapistA licensed massage therapist for over 17 years, Peg studied at the New Center for Holistic Health, Education and Research. She is trained in Swedish, Reiki, and Sports massage. Peg's work facilitates healing through relaxation and stress release.



:: Jon Potter
Jon Potter, Massage Therapist Jon Potter graduated from the Swedish Institute in 1997 and has an advanced degree in Shiatsu and Thai massage therapy. Jon also has been practicing Martial Arts for 30 years. He enjoys being a massage therapist, and says he gets a feeling of great satisfaction from helping others to feel better.

::Donna Brickwood
Donna Brickwood, Massage Therapist Donna is a licensed massage therapist with training in numerous modalities including Swedish, Medical, Shiatsu, Craniosacral Balancing, Deep Tissue and Reflexology. She also has a 200 hour certification in Satsang yoga and is passionate about sharing well being and healthy energy during her yoga classes.

Donna is a student-intern at the Tracker Wilderness Survival and Awareness School in Waretown, New Jersey. She brings a unique connection with nature and a deep sense of presence that comes with time spent in the wilds of the NJ Pine Barrens to all that she undertakes.

::Charron Klotz
Charron is a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of New York and studied at the Academy of Massage Therapy. She utilizes numerous therapeutic modalities to help bring relaxation, relief and a sense of well being to her clients. She has been trained in Swedish massage, shiatsu, trigger point therapy, deep tissue, stretching and reflexology techniques. Charron is a prior U.S. Marine and enjoys horseback riding, hiking and reading.

::Barbara Boyer
:Barbara Boyer, Yoga Instructor Barbara began practicing yoga in 1990. During this time, Barbara had been working in Manhattan at VH-1 and a co-worker asked her to join her at a yoga class. After practicing dance on and off for years, she was astonished by how profoundly yoga affected her breath and body awareness. This wonderful realization turned yoga into a lifetime practice.

In 1997, Barbara left her career in the music industry to start a family and focus on her journey with yoga. In 2001, she began practicing Transcendental Meditation under the direction of an Ayurvedic Healthcare Practitioner and has since honored the rewards of daily meditation. In 2008, Barbara enrolled in the 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) training certification program with Yoga Mountain Wellness Center in Cornwall, New York. Having completed the 200 hour program under the direction of Stephanie Sirico, she is currently working towards an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 hour (E-RYT) certification with Breathe Yoga.

Barbara's classes are a combination of Vinyasa flow along with "exploring where the breath can take you" by releasing into Yin yoga. Through the practice of yoga, Barbara believes "we allow the body to relax, the mind to quiet, and the spirit to be at peace."

::Linda Carter Dougherty, LMSW, RYT
:Linda Carter Dougherty Yoga Instructor
Linda received her 200 Hr. RYT Certification through Yoga Mountain in Cornwall in 2008. She has a passion for her own practice and is just as enthusiastic about sharing her love of yoga with her students. She worked for 24 years as a school social worker at Ramapo Central School district at a K-5 school until retiring in 2009. During the last few years, she has enjoyed teaching yoga to students at the elementary school and to the students she counseled. She completed the Radiant Child Level 1 Yoga Program in 2007 under the guidance of Shakta Kaur Kalsa. Her goal is for her students to find inner peace through asanas and meditation.

Some of Linda's other interests include hiking, reading, cruising, knitting and spending time with her family. She is also a 2nd degree black belt.

::Maddie Donohue
Maddie Donohue Madelaine has been a fitness and yoga instructor in the Hudson Valley for the past 20 years. She has studied and practiced yoga with talented teachers at Ananda Ashram, Kripalu, The New Age Center in Nyack and the Open Center in New York City. She recently completed training in chair yoga at the Open Center in New York City under the guidance of Lakshmi Voelker. Madelaine continues to study the art of living with Dr. Gulrukh Bala of Bombay, India and the USA.

Madelaine believes her yoga practice makes her more connected to herself and others and keeps her in harmony with life. Her yoga practice brings much healing and joy to her life. She feels the benefits and transformation physically, emotionally and spiritually. Madelaine adores sharing her knowledge, passion and love for yoga and life with everyone on the journey.

::Johnnie Getz Johnnie Getz, Yoga Instructor
Johnnie graduated from the Kripalu Yoga Center with a certification in YogaDance where each person learns to let their yoga dance. Her experience and practice also includes yoga and shiatsu. Johnnie studied numerous yoga disciplines including Baron Baptiste Yoga in the Yucatan at the Yoga Teachers Training Bootcamp. Her studies in Shiatsu took place in NYC at the Ohashi Institute with advanced studies at the Zen Buddhist Monastery in the Catskills. Her teaching experience includes yoga at the Hindu Temple in Wappinger Falls and YogaDance at the Kripalu Yoga Center. Additional studies include meditation and Reiki that are incorporated in all her classes.

Johnnie has lived in Orange County for 30 years and currently resides in Newburgh, NY with her husband Bob. Johnnie's energy brings balance, joy and love together as the dance of life continues.

:: Arlene Kobylinski
Arlene Kobylinski, Yoga Instructor Having studied yoga for over 15 years in New York city, Arlene became an AFPA certified Yoga instructor and is working towards her 200 hour certification through the Yoga Alliance. A past marathoner, who learned of yoga during her training, Arlene, became hooked on the benefits that Yoga lends to the Mind, Body and Spirit. Her goal is to teach adults and children how important it is to incorporate, breathing, stretching and "being present" into our everyday lives.

Arlene teaches Family, Kids and Adult classes and is loving the journey. She lives right here in Highland Mills with her husband, two young boys and dog Buddha.

:: Amy Prisco-Ring
Amy Prisco-Ring, Yoga Instructor Amy Prisco-Ring is a registered Yoga Instructor who completed her 200 hour certification at Yoga Mountain in the fall of 2007. Her overall objective is to make yoga accessible to students of all ages and stages. She has enjoyed every moment of teaching yoga to children, seniors, beginners and experienced yoginis for over four years.

Amy combines Asana (postures), Pranayama (breath work) and various meditative techniques in her classes, introducing basic yoga concepts and postural guidance. Amy enjoys assisting her students in finding their own practice to help them gain strength, flexibility balance and a sense of inner calm on and off the mat. Her style is a mix of Hatha Yoga for advanced beginners as well as those starting out or starting over. She combines vinyasa sequences, strength building poses, balancing postures, stretching, gentle inversions and relaxation in her classes, modifying postures to personalize a students practice.

Amy considers it a privilege and a joy to share this ancient technique with the Wellness Springs Community.
